Esther provides training and workshops both in the Netherlands and abroad. Did you know that since 2004 Esther has initiated and organised more than 30 social ‘trade fairs’ for various local councils in the Netherlands? And, that she has even coached organisations and companies in Sweden in preparing their own successful social trade fairs?
Training
Combining training and social activities
Companies increasingly choose to combine courses and training with social activities. These companies can see the advantages of a social context as a learning environment, particularly where it concerns developing competences such as coaching, working collaboratively, listening, communicating, creativity, improvising, flexibility and acquiring a client-focused approach. With Alianza, Esther offers a number of courses and workshops for companies when considering or combining the following:
- team building and working collaboratively
- introducing new employees
- recognising and acknowledging your own company’s core values
- competences and talent development
- developing leadership and management processes
Discover the possibilities for socially responsible entrepreneurship.
An example: the Pro Bono Marathon day
What would happen if social organisations had the same access to marketing, technology, strategy, communication and means as companies enjoy? To investigate the opportunities in this area, Esther offers 6-10 professionals the opportunity of contributing their expertise, pro bono, in a full one-day session (or across a three month process) for a good cause or charity. An ideal setting for young professionals wishing to hone their skills and leadership and teamwork qualities, whilst simultaneously contributing to the fabric of society. To ensure she was able to lead this training as professionally as possible, Esther followed the Pro Bono Lab Champion course in the United States.
Another example: from ‘targets’ to the basis
We invite your employees to spend one day with children, older people, people who are ill or who for whatever reason have trouble keeping up with ‘normal’ society. Such days demonstrate that targets, efficiency, growth, spreadsheets and innovation quickly make way for the human need for care, attention and patience. This will exert a softening, internalising effect on your employees, putting them back in touch with their own base. In this atmosphere they will be more receptive towards a trainer’s material, making it easier to reflect upon themselves and colleagues. A day never to be forgotten.
Good Business
In 2005, the Rabobank Foundation appointed Esther to launch ‘Goede Zaken’ (Good Business). She is now the Goede Zaken workshops’ national programme manager and trainer. Every year Esther trains and inspires over 1000 participants from social organisations regarding the opportunities presented through working collaboratively with businesses.
Esther also offers Goede Zaken master classes for companies, focused on developing a vision and approach for those companies desiring to fulfil their role as a ‘good neighbour’ in society. The process includes a practical workshop for employees to make something truly tangible of socially responsible entrepreneurship.
